The compression post partially blocks the forward stateroom door.

Woke up very tired. I am however starting to acclimate to being on the boat.

I'm very focused on how narrow the cabin doors are. I fear they are going to be a bigger problem than I initially thought especially when off-shore in heavy seas. The compression post awkwardly blocks the forward stateroom door a bit making it extra challenging to get into.

There is a certain decadence to being able to take a comfortable shower on your own boat.

I went for a nice walk and checked out quite a few boats in the marina.

I hate when I waste money. I bought $40 worth of hardware from Warren Fastenings which don't do returns. It was a long trek out there to buy some threaded wood inserts. They didn't have stainless or metric so I got some brass ones in standard.

When I got back to the boat I decided this was an error. The brass will turn green and with dissimilar metals I don't know what would happen.

There are a number of panels and wood pieces that need to come off repeatedly and Jeanneau just used wood screws so long term that's not going to work. I want to replace all the wood screws with inserts.

It took about an hour but I learned that Amazon has boxes all over the place that you can ship to.

So the magic words are "M5 stainless threaded insert for wood" E-Z Lock is the brand with the widest selection including metric sizes. To the degree possible I want to keep everything metric on the boat.

I should have the inserts Thursday so I'll finally be able to properly secure the cover that fits over the lower part of the helm.

Unfortunately, that covers takes up a lot of room so the person under it might feel a bit cramped.

Back at the boat. Alex is still working away in the oppressive heat. Our plan with the propane locker encountered a glitch. We forgot to test closing the lazarette. It was too tall so he had to cut the board and lower it.

I can't explain it but the line that was leaking so badly was actually above the water line. Stupidly, the video I took didn't take so I have no evidence.

How did all that water get into the boat? We're we in following seas maybe? The short of it is that it represents no danger once hooked up to the propane locker.

In Target Starbucks are still not nearly as good as the free standing ones.

So much of this is trial and error. I found some rechargeable USB powered fans that /seem/ to be a good idea.

I don't know if the brass anchors I got are a good idea. Stainless screws into brass inserts in wood.
