Another day where I'm not doing so well. Guts cramping up again. This just reinforces my limitations and it bums me out. Wayne and Jackie went ashore to go exploring. I stayed on the boat to remain within striking distance of the head.

It's a simply beutiful day otherwise.

Woke up at 7 but laid around until 08:30. I should have just gotten up. Slept ok.

It's not too hot with a good breeze and partly cloudy. We'll spend today here.

Blood red sliver of a moon just over the horizon ... of course a photo won't capture it.

We've arrived.

I need much more time at the sheets.

More paper navigation practice. Sadly, I did not take the navigation course with Watne and Jackie so I will have to play catchup.

The auto-helm lost it's mind repeatedly. Mark had to save the boat from an unintentional jibe. He then figured out the auto-helm was low on fluid. Wayne got the fluid and funnels and I got a large measure cup. In moderate waves with the boat pitching around Wayne filled the cup and then I tried adding it the reservoir. Fortunately my shoulder wasn't too bad but it was somewhat exhausting.

I suspect there is a leak somewhere.

Every hour Wayne and Jackie update their written passage log keeping track of our progress and deviation from ideal course.

Practicing all the knots I have forgotten.

We are really moving along.

The winds have settled down. Mark adjusted the sails and we've gained a knot and are now bouncimg between 8 and 9 knots. Wayne made us a snack.

There is a problem with the manual steering. Something is slipping but auto-helm and pilot house steering are working.

We have left Antigua. The wind is much stronger than predicted so there was some excitement trying to get things under control. This was the first time I was involved i. pulling out the main.

There was a lot of crashing down below so I took care of that while Mark, Wayne, and Jackie took care if things. There was some issue with the auto-helm.

I feel like I've forgotten so much. I need to re-practice handling dock lines and rememorize vocabulary.

I don't know how I am going to get enough practice in order to be truly competent without having full time access to a boat which implies I probably need to own one.

Mark, Wayne, and Jackie went ashore to clear us out. I stayed behind to have breakfast. A 45ft Hanse is waiting patiently for us to leave the fuel dock.

I seriously need to add a pre-trip check list feature and trip notes that pop up as you approach them. "Port side
of channel shallow, keep to starboard."
