We just finished up with the master clutch cylinder and left heated grip on the R11 so now we're heading off into the likely wet to go for a ride North and West.
We're heading back down to the same general area as last week to explore some more smaller roads.
The plan is to head South to one of Duncan's favorite roads in Maryland which this time of year should be turning into a bright green tree tunnel. I'm not sure this is the right road though. I thought it was to the East of 301, not the West. Strangely, I don't have it listed anywhere in the maps so I'm not sure if there's a database bug or maybe we just never tagged it?
All three of my bikes are down so for the first time ever we re taking Duncan's two bikes. I suspect we will get wet.
It's been almost three months since we've ridden but I also need to check up on the Virginia Cottage so the thought is to combine a ride with a trip there.
I've been having epic sleep problems of late. As a result this will be another short-ish late afternoon street ride. Forecast is for a high of 50degF. No particular destination is in mind yet.
I figure we can stay closer to home and see if we can't find some roads we haven't ridden. I have to be back no later than 5:45 because of dinner plans.
Meeting at Blue Bottle Coffee near Union Market in DC. Marked on the map.
Hitting scattered roads across both new maps. I'll be running the MBM site, testing and uploading from the road.
Let's head back out to the Northernmost section of the George Washington National Forest and see if we can't find some more gravel roads to explore. There were a number that we saw off of 48 as we were coming back before it merged with 55. Maybe we can try to get an earlier start?
The thought is to take the big bikes up to the area between Lancaster and Philadelphia to explore some of the roads that have been suggested. We'll probably slab it back down 95.
There are some forest service roads listed in the US forest service road database that we ve talked about exploring. I don t know what shape these roads are in. The bikes in the mix will determine how far we go. if it gets too rough for any member of the ride we ll all turn around. There are plenty of roads to explore.
A ride starting out at Point of Rocks MD, and heading up to PA apple country.
We've gotten Duncan's K1300S back together. The front wheel is straightened and the wheel bearings have been replaced. We mounted new Pilot Road 5's on it. So the thought is to go for a little ride heading out into an area we have not explored to the North and East of Baltimore.
This turned into a beautiful cool ride along a number of dirt roads we had yet to explore.
We're heading up to Summit Point Motorsports Park on Sept 9th for a track day event.
