I'm concerned that my phone is flaking out so I'm taking some time to free up space on the MacBook so I can make a proper backup.

Dana made me breakfast, again. I feel so spoiled on this vessel.

The phone is acting weird. The camera app started flickering. It's locking up more often where I have to wither wait a while or kill and restart it to show the camera view.
Slow night. Spinnaker up now. Come on!

The cargo ship changed course 10degrees to port and are likely to pass behind us. Closest point now predicted to be 2.11 nm.

There's a huge container ship or tanker on the horizon. It's likely to pass in front os us and ncomfortably close.

We're humming along flying the spinnaker 8+ kts.

Wayne was just saying we should always have some ice and ice packs even on the little boat to treat rope burns.

Dana really hurt himself as did Wayne. They've been using frozen chicken as an ice pack.

I have concluded that spinnakers are dangerous.

Some excitement. Dana was redjusting the sponnaker tack when he lost grip on the sheet and suffered a painful rope burn.

"Dana needs help!", Wayne said. I jumped into action first getring my sailing gloves. Dana was trying to bring in the spinnaker as it would slacken but even with the two of us it was too much. His hand hurt too much so he showed me how to douse it and I proceeded to. It took a little edfort but was manageable. Once doused Dana reset the
sheet and I pulled up the sock and the spinnaker flew again once Wayne tightened his sheet.

Dana stuck his feet in the water and started saying loudly, "Here sharky sharky sharky."

I sat up past my watch to update Dana on what happened. It looks like the furling line had been run wrong so I went ahead and reran it as far as we know correctly.

It's quite warm in my cabin. I've opened the hatch to get some airflow.

I got quite wet tonight.

Sailing straight into a dark moon ... the camera doesn't capture it.

Well that was fun. The roller furling line got completely fouled around the stay on the outside of the cage. I pondered for a long while and then decided to wake Wayne so he could spot me and I went to the bow
to untangle the mess. I pulled the line out from the helm and wrapped it up. At first I thought we were going to be forced to drop the headsail which would have been a bear but then I realized I could wrap by wrap brute force the line back into the cage. I think the problem is the aft side of the cage is bent allowing the line to escape. The forward side is quite tight and was much more difficult to force the line in.

I fear it may not furl the sail in correctly because the line might bind so we will have to test it.

I got my workout in for today.

Despite the fact that the sails require nearly constant attention and the engine doesn't, a running engine brings me no peace.

I'm bummed I tried to start the engine in gear. Fatigue. I need to ask if Dana has a label maker?

Wind died.
I tried to start the starboard engine in gear by mistake. Then shifted to neutral and it wouldn't crank. Dead battery?

So I started the port engine but it showed a charge alarm. I ran it for 10 minutes and was able to start the starboard engine, just ....

The tack went without incident. We are jow motorsailing to our waypoint.

I helped Wayne reef the headsail when we noticed a dead flying fish lying mexr to the furling line jam cleat. Poor fish.
