Bruce is coming into town and for the first time in five years, we'll be taking both street bikes out.
I am going to evaluate the first candidate sailboat in detail on Tuesday. I've scheduled an out of the water survey. Clearly buying a boat is a fools errand, but I am drawn to this task for reasons I do not fully understand. While I suspect to find show stoppers, I have to keep an open mind and not dismiss the opportunity out of hand.
Taking the RX-8 to go look at marinas.
It's going to be much colder tomorrow so we're trying to get out on the bikes for just a bit this afternoon.
I just finished the job of installing the rebuilt final drive. It's time to see if it blows up.
The weather is nice. There's a steel boat hull Duncan wants to check out. So we'll head out that way.
Ryan asked to go riding. Duncan is joining us. The plan is to bundle up and head up to Michaux or maybe head out to the dirt roads around SugarLoaf mountain, or some combination.
I'm joining Dana to sail Aravilla from Baltimore to Norfolk. We have extra time so we're planning on just sailing during the day time, no overnights.
Two days in a row. This will be another shortish ride through fall colors.
It's sunny but also cool and quite windy. The leaves are starting to fall in earnest now. It's been a little while but we're going to try to get out on the street bikes for a modest day ride.
Cloudy. Rain forecast. Cool to Cold. We're planning to head out anyway, but discretion being the better part of valor, taking the RX8. It was two years ago today, Duncan bought it.
Duncan wants to take Alli's DR200 out to run the old gas out of it since it also has not been run in over a year.
Duncan hasn't run his DR650 in far too long so the plan is to brave the heat for a short-ish DR ride. I'm not sure where to head. Maybe Southern Maryland. I'm not sure if we'll find any dirt, but heading to the water might be nice.
We're heading up to Summit point to watch a track day and hopefully meet up with Tom.
Joining Wayne and Jackie on the now annual Fort Lewis Lodge ride.
On July 29th, 2023, I bolted on the final pieces so now the Oil Burner is whole once again. The plan is simply to stay relatively local and put the bike through it's paces. It worked well on the four mile test loop but we did sync the throttle bodies and adjust the CO, so I don't know if we made some mistake there. So the idea is to be conservative and see how it does. If it does well maybe we'll head further afield.
Bruce and I are planning to head out for an overnight ride. Where we go will largely depend on the weather since there are multiple systems moving through the area. Over the last two days on the DR650 my shoulders and neck are in pretty bad shape so we'll see how much I can do. It's highway miles that seem to hurt the most on the dual-sport.
Bruce, Duncan, and I are going to do another day ride, this time heading North to avoid the rains in this area and to the South.
Bruce is in town and we've been planning on a modest ride. But then we heard Ian was coincidentally also in town so the four of us, Duncan, Bruce, Ian, and I, are going to do a Southern Maryland Loop ride.
We're chartering Tabasco out of Sint Maarten again.
This is a quick local test to verify that there are no show stopper issues with the latest build. Once again I've made many changes and did not get nearly as much done as I had hoped.

The weather is once again unseasonably warm so we're going to head out on another modest ride.
