Most big trips for me begin and end at Asheville Regional Airport. It's about 45 minutes from home on the Interstates, little traffic on this bright warm winter day with Jackie at the wheel and the boys along in the back seat catching up on their doggy daydreams. The counter was nearly empty at American Airlines and I saved a $100 overweight fee by shuffling shoes and such into my carry on backpack. TSA security was also vacant of travelers and I breezed through to find a small high top table at the airport bar. As is my tradition a small bottle of prosecco and a sparkling glass was soon atop it. So far, things couldn't be much easier and hassle free. I'm off to a great start!
