The other kind of foot is a shank style foot

This lever drops the foot for replacement

This lever raises the foot.

This lever is used to adjust the bite force of the teeth.

These teeth on the surface pull the fabric away from the operator.

Do not hold the upper thread too tightly. Nothing needs to be done with the bottom thread. Once up tease the bottem thread out.

Turn the handle towards the operator to get the lower thread up. Hold the upper thread so it does not disappear.

This is how the needle threader works

Changing the needle the flat part should face the operator

Pull to the the side

Thread the needle from the side facing the operator

Then hook it around this hook.

Thread goes up and around this top hook as shown

Goes down and then up to the hook.

Route the thread as shown

To adjust the tension on the lower bobbin this screw is used.

The thread goes between the two plates.

Thread Tensioner - 3 to 5 is average tension. The tension determines whether ot not the thread will interlock evenly. This has to do with the stitch.

Have the thread to come off the back to teduce likilihood of tangling

Spool holder that raises up and down. This machine has two for when using a double needle which I will probably never use.

Hold the bobbin casing by the lever so the bobbin does not fall out

The thread goes into the little groove and wraps around the endent and travels to the right

Make sure the thread is coming off the top
