Huh. The Axiom just rebooted for no discernable reason.

Away from the dock at 07:50.

After adding 1 liter of oil and waiting 20 minutes the dipstick only showed about 1/3. It dawned on me that this engine may not have been run with synthetic and may that's why it's burning more oil. Not sure.

It's a gorgeous bright morning.

Up at 06:45. Yesterday was a long 82.9 nm day. We arrived just after the sun set. There were following seas into the inlet that I wasn't expecting. The boat wallowed quite a bit making keeping on course challenging. zit also raised the spectre in my mind that one can really get hurt or in trouble very easily. There is so much to learn and I know even less than I had realized.

We just determined the steaming light does not work. I didn't even think to test it.

I've reserved a transient slip at Point Lookout Marina.

I /think/ we have more than enough fuel to make it to Annapolis tomorrow . I made a little oops in not letting Bert Jabins know that I was coming in. I didn't know about the powerboat ahow ... but DJ is going to scramble and get my slip, G7, vacated before we arrive tomorrow.

There's a lot of planning and estimation in a sailing trip ... and getting good estimates still challenges me.

Both sails are up but I madena aerious lapse of judgement error ... I had failed to ease the vang and mainsheet when I tried to pull out the mainsail and it bound and I overstressed it and destroyed a block for the outhaul ... I bought a boat to make these kinds of errors and learn from them.

I had remembered the mainsail outhaul sometimes sticks but had no feel for how much force to put on it and did too much. Wayne then coached me the mainsail should come out by hand.

I then moticed another block is about to fail and will have to be replaced before any serious sailing. They are stupid expensive but I'm going to get a number of spares.

No wind. The bay is dull calm. To save time I'm following a more direct course than we usually follow.
