The coffee grinder is operational again. It was just clogged but coffee turns to something approximating limestone when left on a boat too long.

And once I looked at photos I remembered the biggest time sink of the day (which I can't believe I forgot) is finishing up the life lines carefully adjusting the tension on each and the long error prone process of trying to stabilize the loose station at the entryway ... Rebecca had given me some rubber gasket material to use as a way to stabilize the stanchion which had quite a bit of play in it. This was well over an hour of trying various approaches. Two strips on either side and then pounding them in finally yielded a solid fit.

Another tiring day. And again the day is a blur ... memories fade as soon as they are made.

Michael and Rebecca showed up as I was just leaving for West Marine. Rebecca added the final snaps for the cushions and then test fit the bimini. Michael worked on adjusting the bimini bows while Rebecca worked on the cushions. There was some issues with the fit of them bimini I didn't fully understand. It looked good to me.

Rebecca had to leave to get her kids from the babysitters. Michael had a friend in from out of country he hadn't spent time with in years.

Rebecca returned just as I was leaving for West Marine.

I got a replacement for the lifeline pin I lost in the drink in addition to a transom shower, some metal polish Rebecca recommended, and an assortment of splintings.

I stopped at Starbucks because I was proper tired. The wing screws I previously got were too short. I looked at West Marine but they had no metric hardware. I then had the brilliant idea to check Amazon .. so I spent some time at Starbucks ordering hardware long enough to secure the loose settee bench. I'm opting for stainless threaded inserts instead of using wood screws.Wood screws make no sense for panels that have to be frequently removed. My thought was to add wing screws.

Realizing I no longer needed to go to Lowe's I headed back to the boat. Michael had said we would likely test sail but that didn't happen. He had invited me to go shooting but I had too much to do.

Now that all the major work is done I set about trying to better organize the lazarettes. I was surprised that despite the batteries in the starboard lazarette the work Alex did on the starboard lazarette actually increases the available space.

I took the time to secure some loose generator wiring and experimented with various arrangements for the set of containers I have. It all worked out pretty well.

There's this small space next to the water heater in the bowels of the port lazarette under the genset which looks like a perfect and secure place to store the spare prop. It shouldn't move. There's more space down there to maybe store a small container of rarely used items.

I then set about trying to set up the threaded insert wing screw solution for the cover over the steering gear cover in the aft cabin. It's challenging to get the inserts to go in straight. Unfortunately, I put one in backwards and ran out of time so will have to continue that project tomorrow.

I went to Publix to buy poo bags, water, blueberries, grapes, paper towels, and wine then I headed to the Marriot restaurant where they take really good care of me. It turns out the bartenders twin has celiac so she.gets it.

I guess I do remember today ...

Today was strangely exhausting. Michael dropped off the life lines which I installed. I'm missing one pin and split ring which I will need to pick up from West Marine tomorrow.

Strangely I don't remember most of the day. These last few days have been a blur of tiring activity.

Once everyone left I crashed hard and was out hard asleep for a couple hours.

I futzed with minor details that need addressing. All little stuff but nevertheless stuff that's the consing.

Michael has a sailor friend in town. We may take the boat out on another test sail tomorrow.

The bimini and seat cushions should all be done tomorrow.

The rear AC isn't cycling so it gets too cold. I suspect there's an issue with the temperature sensor.

Finally got the fresh water system fixed. The old pump may not have failed. Somehow the water supply got turned off. But regardless, using a wash down pump for a fresh water pump is not correct. This new pump gets to pressure much quicker and is much quieter.
