Got up at 07:30. It looks like it's shaping up to be a gorgeous day.

Sadly I lost my hat yesterday.

Quiet slow tired night. Solo at the bar across the street to grab bite to eat. Blueberries and pecans do not a dinner make.

It looks like the.worst of the rain and wind having passed. Calm now. I was so tired I actually fell asleep at the settee.

ADVICE:

“Remember, boys and girls, never pour boiling water into your French press. Water boils at 212° and that temperature will over-extract your coffee, causing bitterness. The best temperature to pour water into your French press is from 200° to 204°. Get yourself an inexpensive digital thermometer from Amazon and get down with your bad self.I bring mine to a boil, then take it off the heat and wait until it cools down to at least 204° before pouring it into the ground coffee in the press. I swirl the coffee as the water goes in to get all of the grounds wet and I stop when the mixture is at least an inch below the bottom of the spout. Then I wait about a minute and a half and I gently pour some more of the water in. You will see that this will release a lot of air that was trapped in the grounds. I will keep pouring the water in until the coffee / water mixture is a quarter inch below the bottom of the spout. Then I will put the top of the press on and wait until my 4-minute timer (started right before I pour the first water in) sounds to press. Cheers!”
