We had lunch at the marina restaurant and then we left the slip to head out to get diesel and water. I piloted the boat and got a good amount of docking practice.

Jumping through the government hoops to properly clear out is time consuming. Dana and Mark are working through the forms and will head over to customs in a bit.

A Wayne is going to Wayne. He's furiously scrubbing the boat with boundless energy. I'm tired today and am sipping coffee trying to wake up.

Navigating into Norfolk at night is quite challenging. We got hailed by a huge cargo shop, politely just to confirm that we'd stay to the green side of the channel. Huge vessel.

Aircraft carriers are always cool.

Nice sunset.

The jacket battery lasted until about a half hour ago. I put it on the charger and am jow running the spare.

Fishing boat was heading our way. I altered course to point closer to our destination. He then slowed down dramatically.

Jeff is cleaning windows. I think Jeff and Wayne will get along.
The boat is pretty much ready to go. We’re waiting on a sail to be delivered, still need to rig the safety lines, would like to get a propane tank filled, all minor tasks to kill the time tomorrow while we wait for the best weather window to depart.

We’ve heard from Tabasco. They are near the mouth of the Chesapeake so it will be after dark before they anchor off the marina. Plan is to meet on shore for dinner at the marina restaurant, pick up Yermo, then we’ll go out to anchor tomorrow nearby and transfer the remaining equipment and supplies to Aravilla.

Time to rest a bit and wait for our remaining crew member.

Huh. It looks like I've only been runnung the jacket at half heat. There's a second button I missed. This is quite nice because even in the pilot house it's a bit chilly.

I had been feeling a bit questionable about this purchase since it was quite expensive, but now I think it was a solid choice. This is working out well.

Mark and I replaced the nav lights. Consitions were calm enough that it wasn't difficult.

The heated jacket doesn't warm up as much as I would have hoped.

Not that much wind so it looks like we'll be motorsailing all the way down.
