The last section of the road was very pleasant. runs through a canyon. coming down the highway. we did not see any police much to ashes pleasure. we've checked into the Texan resort, which is actually just a bunch of cabins, a little dated but it's going to work.

A quick stop to fix a loose mirror. we are getting close now. 25 mi to go.

about 30 mi out. weather's holding nice, not too warm, making decent time.

So he took a side loop on a pretty technical section and it's it's Rocky. it's got some real steep climbs lots and lots of whoop-Dee-Doos and it was a bit much. we had a couple guys go down but nobody's hurt. no bikes or damaged So I think next time we take that out of the itinerary.

So we have about 63 mi to go stop. we've been crossing open rangeland at high speeds for a while. now it's time to head up into the hills and start making the climb to lake City.

So we've come in a little early for lunch at pitkin but it is what it is and we'll make the best of it. we ride down from the top of Cumberland Pass was pretty nice. there's a bit of traffic today. ATVs, cars, or these, anything with four wheels essentially up in the mountains. we'll get some lunch here and pass some time before we head back up again

So after we left data area down off cottonwood Pass we got on a fairly nice forest road which took us to tin cup a tiny isolated town. from there we have climbed up Cumberland pass and the views up here are quite stunning.

we came down off cottonwood Pass and we're now in the Taylor Park recreational area

who made it the top of cottonwood Pass and it is absolutely gorgeous up here. got my picture with a bunch of kids too.

So we finally got the replacement bike and it is 9:00 so not too late at delay. off we go.

arg. late night last night. up packing and repacking the van. we had to get the broken bikes in there which meant completely unloading rearranging the carriers and then reloading the van. well into the night to accomplish that.

now out early. have to get a quick start this morning. waiting on the clients to show up and get their stuff loaded. we need to detour today to pick up a replacement bike, so that throws things off kilter. Long ride ahead. Long day ahead.
