I took some time and marked a number of waterfalls and scenic views to check out on the planning map. 

Genset battery had failed so off to AutoZone I went to get a replacement. I failed to realize the new one is not the exact same size as the last one I got so did not fit properly but I suspect it'll hold. 

Damn have car batteries gotten expensive. $225 ... 

Now sitting at McGinty's as is customary.

The plan is to pick Carrie upbafter she gets to work which means we'll arrive at Ohiopyle after dark and probably in the rain. This should prove interesting.

At Target. I picked up a grill base spontaneously. It looks like it would work well for burgers or ceggies. I also got a cooler and some ice packs.

As is always the case when I get into something new I buy too much gear. We'll be taking everything except the kitchen sink.

It's quite different from the minimal motorcycle camping I usually do ... but I'm going to try some proper cooking to see how it works out.

It feels so very wrong to buy plastic wrapped firewood ... a sin against nature but we are likely to arrive in the rain and it's not clear what the firewood situation will be up there.
