In Covington now. Route 42 out of Harrisonburg was a pleasant fast run on mostly good pavement except for the occasional sections of loose chip seal, construction zones, and logging trucks. The last few dozen miles were wonderful.

Deep loose chip seal in blind corners is just rude.

Between trucks, construction zone, and occasional traffic I suspect I will end up having to bail and slab the last part. We’ll see.

The Mission Trail tires are really growing on me,

Gas stop. 3.871 gals 157.5 miles 40.6 mpg

The Garmin recalculated the route to head down I81. I stopped and restarted it and it’s now routing properly but seems to think it’ll take 12 hours to get there. We’ll see.

Customary Starbucks stop for a short yet good sit.

Traffic around the Beltway was pretty bad. An accident on I66 also caused quite a backup.

The weather is gorgeous and the bike is running well although the right front turn signal is not working and it is not the bulb.
