I forgot to mention we also bolted on the shorter brake and clutch levers and in that process discovered the clutch safety switch is broken. So we bypassed it. 

The bike also needs an oil/filter change. It's overdue.

We replaced the bearings. While in the wheel they did not spin freely but once removed they seemed as if they did not need to be replaced. 

We also replaced the front brake pads. We left the rears for the time being as I was feeling quite low energy.

The battery may need to be replaced. 

Front wheel bearings and pads arrived today.

Wheel bearings and brake pads have been ordered from Procycle. 

I will have to check my notes but my suspicion is the bearings on the front date back to 2016.
