Fuck. Apparently, when I made that error on installing the brake lines I damaged one of the joints and it's leaking fluid. 100% my own fault. Replacements are not in stock and it's at least a week before I can get a replacement line. 

My short break turned into a longer break of reviewing all the steps for the valve adjustment.

I decided to print them out. It’s been years since I’ve put anything in a binder or used a hole punch. Feeling “old school” or maybe just  old.

Took a short snack coffee break at Starbucks:

Autozone was packed and slow. I took the opportunity to pick up some additional supplies.

Cleaning takes up a significant amount of time as does the inevitable need to run to the store. Off in search of more spot detailer. 

Cleaned up the threads on the rusted bolts and the significantly crossthreaded screw hold center right side. Anti-seize will be going on these when it goes back together.

Now to clean surfaces in preparation for pulling the valve covers off.

Valve cover slide guard nuts on the front are a bit corroded. The center bolt on the right ride was hard to remove. It felt mis-threaded.
