The K100RS is back to fully operational status. A BM-002 shock could not be obtained so Ohlins rebuilt/re-engineered the shock to the correct configuration in essence converting the incorrect BM-042 shock to the correct one. It apparently involved a tech hand carrying parts from Sweden and as the story goes they used conducted the shock rebuild as the basis of some training class.

So it looks like it's correct now.

I swear the bike handles even better than before.

The final drive is toast. Some of the bearings are on back-order so they were not able to get it repaired in time for this trip. It was a bit stressful there for a bit as I was afraid that I might not be able to take either bike.

But the Beloved Blue Oil Burner now has it's proper shock and I swear the ride height is a bit higher than the previous Ohlins shock. Cornering is also MUCH improved.

I'll know a lot more once I've had a chance to run it through the Gap.
