A question has come up on what helmets, gloves, jackets, pants and boots women might want to look at when selecting gear.

The gear we got for AGrip has worked out remarkably well. We got her:

The HJC Snell/DOT approved CL-16 helmet, currently on closeout:


This helmet has worked out reasonably well. It's a bit heavy but held up well even when touring. It looks like the CL-16 is being replaced by the CL-17. 

She has the Olympia AirGlide-3 Jacket and Pants combo:


It looks like the AirGlide 3 has been replaced by the AirGlide 4 pant. These are extremely vented mesh pants with armor and a waterproof removable base layer. We ended up replacing the hard CE armor with some Aerostich TF armor to make the knees more comfortable. 

There's no link for the AirGlide 3 jacket but I'm assuming the AirGlide 4 is similar:


The Airglide 3 jacket and pants zip together nicely so I'm assuming the AirGlide 4 will zip to the AirGlide 3 pants, but that'll need to be verified.

For boots we got her some inexpensive ones from Cycle Gear that have worked out surprisingly well. We also sourced gloves there as well as the Heat Out base layer for those super hot days. 

As I mentioned, we've had good luck with this gear. It might be something to look at IzoldaT. 

It looks like the HJC CL-16 is out of stock.

I have the men's version of these. If the woman is adverse to wearing men's non-leather boots then these would work.
