I just spent a week in New Zealand, followed by a week in Tasmania.  NZ's roads were very well maintained and did some nice sweeping turns through the mountains.  I can especially recommend the Crown Ridge Road between Queenstown & Wanaka and the Haast Pass from Wanaka to the west coast.  Damned fine driving there, even if they drive on the wrong side.   BTW, I don't think the sign is there because the road is dangerous.  I think it is there because the road is rather tempting.  It was hard to restrain myself driving Stan (a Hyundai Getz).

Glad to hear that you got to spend two weeks out that way.  I'm sure you had a good time.  Never heard of a Hyundai Getz.  Is it sportier than it looks?
