Here is a series of videos of actual crashes set up to demo various Helite airbag models. From ejection to sliding out - these are good to watch. If you look carefully (usually in the better videos - may have to slow/pause them) you'll see inflation occur before impact. These are great demonstrations showing the technology in action.
