I'm getting geared up to attempt the big engine swap in my '92 K100RS, a.k.a. my Beloved Blue Oil Burner.

The throttle bodies on the donor engine are woefully out of sync. What do you guys recommend for syncing the throttle bodies?

    One suggestion was:

    Yermo,

Have Carbtune, will travel.  Bob's sells an electronic balancer made by Twinmax - made by a UK company - for @ $120.  Boxed set of tuner and goodies runs @ 90 pounds British direct from the company.  I'm guessing with currency exchange and shipping you're right about at Bob's price anyway.

Carbtune has worked fine for me with Japanese twins and in-line fours.  Those have all been carbs vice throttle bodies though.  Found a post about synching pre-2005 K bikes TB positioner to the bike's CPU - see post 10 in the link below.  I'm guessing your talking more about basic fuel air mix and vacuum as a pre-req to synching up the CPU.

That's the beauty of owning fully analog bikes...the CPU is between my ears and it's never been synched to anything so no worries!

    awesome. Thanks for the links!

I have a twin max but have never had any luck with it. It bounces around too much to get a solid reading.

A lot of folks make their own manometers, using some heavy liquid, like atf. I bought one from JC Whitney in 2004 and, along with the four tubes and hoses, they sent a vial of mercury!!  Wow. Works well though. Heavy liquid doesn’t bounce as much or as fast.

That said, I’ve seen a lot of good press on the options that kevin shared.
