Rode May 2019, def should be on your list. Lots of places to pull off and enjoy the view.
As far as I know, this section completion is all that was planned. Is there more to come?

I don't think there are any plans to start on another section. It took nearly 40 years to get the last one done. The logical choice for more work would be connecting wears Valley to US 321 / 441 south of Pigeon Forge.
