An off is a scary thing, even to witness and I've seen a few too many for my taste.

In the end, the bike can be replaced and the body, with patience and effort can more often than not be healed, but it's the psychological scars that take the longest to overcome.

We are taught not to feel, not to fear and most of all not to discuss. I'd call these toxic lessons. I feel that they just get in the way from doing the hard thing. Far from throwing a box of tissues your way, something that I would never do, I say kudos. Not only for being tough enough to face it, but for putting it out there for others to benefit from.

I appreciate the kind words. Forcing myself to write about the accident was an important step in my recovery. The next step will be getting back on a bike and doing what I love to do.
