I never thought I should part with this much cash for a couple of shocks, but I've gone ahead and placed an order for a pair of shiny new Ohlin's shocks for the R1100S.

I have the rotors for the K bike and once I'm done futzing with the boat this week I'll start getting that bike in order as well.

After that all that remains is some regular maintenance in addition to new tires for both bikes and I should be all set for the trip.

I will be getting the sticky Pilot Power 2CT's for the 'S. I'm going to go with Pilot Road 3's for the Blue Bike.

Well welcome to the club. The amount of cache (and TIME!) I spent on the Yammy suspension was beyond obscene.

I think you're really going to like the 2CTs. That's what I have on the BBird and a 1700 mile trip barely scuffed them down the middle while providing huge traction at the edge. Not what I would call "great" in heavy rain, but overall an awesome blend of performance and over-road durability.
