Pasture River Roads (Cow and Bull), 1 each
Ride along Bullpasture River and Cowpasture River through Washington and Jefferson National Forrest. Start at I-64, Exit 27 in Clifton Forge, VA and head north on Douthat State Park Road. Left on VA-39, then right on route 629 to McClung to pick up River Road (625) north to McDowell. Head East on US-250 to route 614 (Cowpasture River Road South) and return to Clifton Forge via Milboro Springs and VA-42.

The entire route is on paved roads. A few rough areas, but no dirt or gravel roads if you stay on the planned route. However, there are a bunch of off-road options to explore near the route if that's your thing. I haven't done any off-road riding in the area, but now I'm thinking I really must. ;-)
Maybe I'll head over that way to do some exploring after my Austin trip.
