So we've gotten off the parkway and run through Boone and now we're out towards wilkesboro. we're going to head east and then pick up i-77 and it will save us some time headed north from there

So we've been forced to stop due to the thick fog. we've just crossed the linco viaduct, I'm pretty sure that's what it was, we could barely see the yellow line on the road. there are too many cars out and it's just too dangerous to proceed. at this point. we're just going to hunker down for 15-20 minutes and see what happens.

we are stopped in little Switzerland as the visibility is terrible. very thick, clouds and light rain. we're going to be stuck with this for a while, it's really making for slow progress.

we are on the Blue ridge parkway and starting our trek North. only one little spit of rain so far. we're about to go up into the clouds though, and it's time to put on an extra layer and prepare for possible wetness.
