    Apparently, the neutral sending unit (NSU) mounting screws on some DR650SE's can work themselves loose. While rare, it can happen that the screws can get pulled into the engine resulting in catastrophic engine failure:

    I had been under the impression that the fix was a small one but unfortunately the switch is installed behind the clutch basket, so it turns out it's a fairly involved job. Details here:

    Clutch on the DR is super easy. This is still below 5 on the 1-10 mechanic difficulty scale.

    yea, it's just that for some reason I had thought it was an external screw so was expecting it to be a 5 minute job ... that'll teach me to pay more attention.
