Came across this photo on the Deal's Gap Facebook Page.

Damn.



No skid marks, maybe because of ABS but more likely because the rider was going faster than they should have been and was target fixated. Tennis Shoes and sock came off. Jeans surely didn't help much. At least, from what I can tell from the photo, the rider was wearing a decent helmet, jacket. and gloves.

But still. Ouch.

Be careful out there.

I'll put that in the Count Your Blessings category. The car is well on its side of the road. Could have been much worse.

Accept the fact that you may crash while riding, but try to make sure that it isn't your fault if you do.

Certainly could have been much worse as this is a glancing blow, but a brutal one at that.

The take away lesson here is not to ride beyond your ability by too wide a margin, I would guess.

That's right. When at Deal's Gap we like to exceed our abilities by only a small margin. Because... it's just an awesome road!
